days:
Opening Hours
11am - 5pm; 23-25 May and 29-31 May. Please do contact me if you would like to visit outside of these hours.
My ideas stem from the poetry of nature and the wonder of the Universe - I am drawn to understand the cycles of the moon and the sun and all that is sacred in life, responding to these plus social and environmental issues.
Celtic Knots
Over this past year I have continued to discover and invent Celtic knots. I find their patterns mesmerising with their endless weaving in and out - meditative and playful. I’ve explored different ways to reproduce them in textiles, and I have used my own designs to weave stories and ideas.
3D felted Pots
I have also continued to explore felting in 3 dimensions - I am intrigued by ancient vessels I’ve seen in museums and I enjoy the challenge of creating these shapes in felt and then decorating them with key themes and ideas.
Affirmations
I find affirmations useful and have a lucky dip of these plus cards and fabric posters aimed to help soothe the soul and find positive ways to move forwards in life.
Sustainability
This is so important to me that I aim to only use natural and secondhand fibres. I try to purchase nothing new when creating an artwork. The exceptions are the odd reel of thread and pre-dyed wool, everything else comes from car boot sales and charity shops.
Studio Sale
I am also clearing out old work that is taking up space in my studio so do please come and browse old works that are greatly reduced in price!
Gardens and Yurt
We are lucky to have a garden overlooking the beautiful Penberth Valley, there is also a living willow space and a yurt that you are welcome to sit and spend time in.
Workshops offered.
I run regular workshops in my studio including teaching feltmaking, mending textiles and also have a fund-raising group "Stitching for Palestine" where people bring their stitching or explore the Palestinian cross-stitch art of Tatreez. Please talk to me during Open Studios or contact me on 07583052436.
Free demos offered.
Textiles Mending
Do bring your -clean- textiles to be repaired. From ripped curtains to favourite jumpers with moth holes: I can repair small items while you wait or you can leave larger items for collection at a later date. During open Studios I shall be stitching.
