The setting for many a fierce storm, the pier of Porthleven is known for its pier and church spire that juts out from the sea spray and roaring waves. On a calm summers evening however, you only remember that vaguely and as the warm light settles on the rooves you have a chance to take in all of the details of the houses, walkers, locals and tourists, youngster diving off the harbour wall and fishing boats gently bobbing.
