Maggie’s work is rooted in her observations and visceral experience of living in the depths of Cornwall. One can see references in her work to the colours, forms and levels of energy that are clearly visible and felt in the area of West Penwith in which she now lives.
However, her work is not a visual representation of any one scene or land form. The memories she holds of the colours, lines and forms are a catalyst for her to manipulate and play with; to create a feeling of unbounded energy and atmosphere.
Maggie has been producing work since the 1980s, participating in numerous exhibitions and art fairs in Sussex, London, Bath and Bristol. She has been a painting tutor both privately and at West Dean Conservation College and Northbrook College, Sussex.
