Sally Holman

Drawing, oil and acrylic paintings

My work is semi abstract and it is more about the poetry of a place rather than the literal space.  I am attracted to gardens, flowers and birds. I like wild gardens and fields with patterns. I work outside when possible, in the landscape, also Porthmeor beach, sometimes I include texture in my paintings. I like the changing seasons and colours. Still Life is another interest - ordinary objects and flowers. A short professional film was made about my work as an artist, it's called  FINAL SALLY'S STORY on YouTube

Further information

Sally"s paintings are truly unique. Ive bought a couple of them and love the way she captures the light and the colours of the sea and landscape.  Her paintings lift and brighten my room and my mood whenever I look at them.       Vera Fernandes 2026

I am the proud possessor of two of Sally"s paintings.  The large one of a lily pond (familiar to us both), greets me with light and joy every time I enter my kitchen and never stops delighting me with new discoveries. The smaller one 'The Way Home' is of a simple path through a field.  When I'm distracted by thought it winks at me and reminds me that the home I'm looking for is the place I'm looking from.  The skill is sublime the inspirtion is love.           Anton Lesser 2026
