Having spent most of her professional life as a human-rights, documentary film-maker, Gill now concentrates on her painting. She lives between Cornwall and Andalucia. Focussing on light and colour, she works in oils, acrylics and watercolours, striving to capture the beauty of her surroundings and the natural world, an antidote to her years making films on the injustice of life for so many people. The last year, she has been working with a master tile-maker in Granada, learning traditional techniques and Moorish tile design. Examples of this work may also be shown at Open Studios.
