Painting
Jane aims to invoke the uncanny by portraying images of ephemeral figures with mysterious shadows. The figures are set in realistic landscapes, seascapes and mountains. Figures are placed on benches gazing out to sea. The work deals with the themes of memorial and transience. Jane works initally en plein air with photos and creates models with cardboard and makes dioramas in the studio. She uses acrylic, oils and works on board.
