Tanya Krzywinska

My current work sits between spaces, often bringing together things that are slightly out of place, or where the distinction between inside and outside blurs. Much of my work comes out of observing the nature of things and what I see as our current need to attend more closely to the world. What underlies my work is the feeling that ‘life’ is generated miraculously out of a fragile confluence of enfolded circumstances. Moments of decision and situation. My figure work leads from formal observation to characterisation. In sum, my work seeks to find an animated realism.
