Julia is known for her evocative and atmospheric depictions of the North Cornish coastline. Through vibrant colour and a strong sense of movement, her paintings capture the visceral experience of the sea — close enough to taste the salt carried on the wind.
Rooted in childhood memories of jumping waves almost as tall as herself, eyes closed and body braced for the cold splash, her work reflects a lifelong connection with the ocean. These early experiences continue to inform paintings that convey both the mystery and magic of the ocean landscape.
Visitors are warmly invited to view Julia’s work in her studio, where she welcomes conversation about her process, inspirations and enduring relationship with the coast.
Julia is a member of Prime Women Artists and Porthmeor 9, a collective of nine artists working and exhibiting in and around St Ives. She has exhibited at the Crypt, St Ives; the Poly, Falmouth; the Mariners, St Ives; and the Levels, Newquay, where she is based.

"I couldn't be more thrilled with my new painting by Julia. I commissioned a piece to remind me of one of my favourite coves and the fabulous view as you come over the cliffs towards it. It's everything I hoped for and more! She's captured the true essence of this special spot and the wonderful colours unique to Cornwall." Rachel
