My love for art started when I was very small. My Grandfather was an artist and my uncle also. My father dabbled. I started drawing at 6 and loved making anything with my hands.

   Clothes design was to be my first passion. I made all my own weird and wonderful clothes, and was accepted into Plymonth Art University for fashion design. Alas, no grants were to be had out of Cornwall that year.

  I fell into working in a Jewellery Workshop in Newquay Cornwall as I had always had a passion for Jewellery and Gems.

  My first Retail outlet was to be in Newcastle, NSW, Australia. I found a niche market there where I designed Jewellery. It went from strength to strength.

Deciding I needed more country space in my life lead us to sell up & move to Tasmania. I moved there on my own intially and we brought another outlet and set up a shop there for 4 years.

When I realised the yearn was actually for the mother country so back to Old Blighty we went, dragging my long suffering partner with me :-)

We came across Salisbury and opened our first UK store (Amali Jules)

But I was missing Cornwall so while on Holiday down there we happened upon a shack of a House that really needed some care (to put it mildly). We both fell in love with the view and brought it in 2016.

The work was massive and it is still not finshed (but my studio is, Yay!).

It was Covid that brought me back to painting. I had been drawing for years, little intricate designs in jewellery, but hadn't painted for years.

  Now the free expression of paint and all the new mediums are so exciting to me. I love it and very much enjoy the time I spend painting & creating.
