Australian-born artist Sarah Macdonald is renowned for her colourful, energetic large oil paintings of West Penwith and her dedication to encouraging others to embrace creativity in their daily lives. At her studio and gallery, Wild West Works, Sarah balances working on commissions with exploring her own artistic endeavours, while also supporting others on their creative journeys.

Drawn to painting from an early age, Sarah’s artistic path took shape in the UK, where she studied Graphic Design in Oxford before earning a degree from Camberwell College of Arts in London. Her diverse career has included graphic design and decorative craftsmanship (Painting and Decorating), each enriching her artistic perspective.

Now based in Cornwall, Sarah is focused on a series of large-scale works characterised by loose, expressive brushwork. These pieces are digitally collated to produce high-quality posters, which will be showcased and available for purchase during Cornwall Open Studios.

Through Wild West Works, Sarah channels her lifelong passion for painting while inspiring others to make creativity a meaningful part of their lives.
