Maggie’s art is all about her love affair with the Cornish beaches and coastline. Her paintings focus on the space where sea meets land and are inspired by the Cornish light and how it reflects off the wet sand at low tide.
Her meditative coastal landscapes capture a sense of being on the beach, standing at the water’s edge watching and listening to the ebb and flow of the ocean.
Capturing a moment in time, Maggie’s paintings also capture a sense of both the timelessness and the transience of the coastal landscape. Tracks left in the sand and rocks newly exposed by the outgoing tide are soon lost again as the tide washes back in.
Maggie has a Fine Art degree from the University of Chichester. She is co-founder of Prime Women Artists, a network set up to support women artists living and working in Cornwall.
She donates regularly to Surfers Against Sewage and UK based marine conservation charity Sea-Changers and loves that she can use her art to help conserve the marine environment that is so passionate about.
