Victoria Gillow is a Cornish painter. Her art reflects her heritage and a physical and spiritual connection with the land and sea- which then informs her landscape and coastal paintings.
She works on site, capturing places in actual time and then in reflection back in her studio. She likes to walk, see and feel what is around her and trully inhabit a place. Working en plein air, and the sensation of being present in a place, brings a expressive and emotive quality to her work where the viewer can feel the elements and the human connection with a place.
Victoria has a BA in Fine Art ,PGCE and MA from Falmouth University, all of which have honed an authorial and personal approach to art. She exhibits throughout Cornwall and nationally, including London, as well as working I extensively in community art and teaching and runs workshops throughout the year-advertised on instagram.
Workshops offered. Please contact me for more information.
