This year is about sharing new work in its early forming stages. Showing progress, exploring ideas and welcoming conversation around where it might all lead.
Pop in for art chat, cake and some light refreshments, as I set up my practice and discover direction and journey back into art.
My first open studios feels less about presenting a complete series of finished work and more about opening the door while things are still growing.
My practice moves between figure, form, water and landscape. Using oil, gouache, charcoal and print whilst exploring my way through contrasts and connectedness, light and shadow, order and wildness, what holds and what shifts.
Cornwall runs through it all. The land, the weather, the pull of tide and horizon. Not just as subject matter, but as something lived with. Something that gets under the skin and steadies the soul while we figure it all out.
Much of what feeds the work comes from wandering coast paths, digging my toes into the sand, being in and around water, watching light move over a surface and disappear again. The glassy stillness before wind picks up. The rush of surf. Rock, salt, silt, drift. Trying to catch some trace of that energy in marks and forms.
There’s something emerging in the work about piecing fragments together without forcing them too soon. Trusting they might find their own way of speaking over time.
There are quieter threads, circling femininity, rawness, movement through time, what surfaces and what stays half-hidden.
In 2026 I’m opening my studio doors for the first time and returning to practice, after many years in the creative industries. I originally studied at Falmouth School of Art (now Falmouth University) and the Surrey Institute of Art & Design.
It feels part return, part beginning.
Amongst a small number of finished pieces, I will also have my range of lino prints available in the studio office.
Prices range from £15 - £300.
